Pre-announcement of call on Marine Research in the North Atlantic

Research Council Faroe Islands will open a new call for proposals for research projects on Marine Research in the North Atlantic Ocean. The plan is to open the call by September 1 2023.

This will be the third call in the programme MARiNAO - Marine Research in the North Atlantic Ocean - funded by the Danish Parliament.

The overarching aim of the programme is to generate new knowledge on the marine environment in the North Atlantic Ocean and to promote cooperation between the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Denmark on marine research.

The programme was funded with 25.5 MDKK in the period 2020-2023. Six projects have been funded so far.

It is now decided to extend the programme to the period 2024-2025 with 7.5 MDKK a year.* 

Who can apply?

The eligibility criteria will be specified in the upcoming call.

As in the previous calls, it will be required, that the host institution (project owner) is a research-performing organisation based in one of the three countries. Also, the consortium must include nationally eligible partners from at least two of the three countries.

The final submission date is expected to be December 7, 2023 at 12:00 Faroese time (GMT +1)
