Large Number of Applications for Research
Research Council Faroe Islands has received a total of 50 applications for research grants from the Faroese Parliament and from the Work Life research programme at the annual deadline on February 17th. More than half of the applications are for PhD projects.
35 Project Leaders are female, 15 are male. The applications are evenly divided between natural science, health science and social science. 41 applications are located in the Faroe Islands and 9 in other countries.
The total amount applied for from both programmes is DKK 59. The total cost of the applications is DKK 151.
The Faroese Parliament has granted 9 MDKK for research in 2026 which is the same as last year. Up to 3 MDKK are available for Work Life research.
Applicants can expect an answer no later than June 1st.
