Funding granted for 12 projects

The Programme Committee for Research Funding has granted a total of 8.2 MDKK for 12 research projects in 2023, of these five PhD projects. The PI gender balance is 5 male and 7 female.

The Research Council received 33 applications in total, applying for 30 MDKK, at the annual deadline in February.

The projects which have received grants from the Research Foundation in 2023 are:

Elsa Helmsdal: "Risk perception, awareness, and knowledge of contaminants in pilot whale: Lerning from 40 years of risk communication on the Faroe Islands”
PhD Project at the National Hospital Research Unit and the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Faroe Islands – 480,000 DKK

Arnfinnur Kallsberg: ”Pneumococcal serotypes in invasive disease and change in pneumococcal carriage and disease prevalence in the Faroe Islands”

Sonja Olsen: ”The transition from preschool to primary school, its requirements, and views on children’s learning on the Faroe Islands”
