Exploring the role of the individual's genetic profile on the susceptibility to COVID-19

Resumé In this project we will initiate genetic research on the COVID-19 outbreak on the Faroe Islands. The opportunities to monitor the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to form an overview of the infection patterns of all COVID-19 infected in the Faroe Islands so far puts us in a unique position in the research context. The modern Faroese community, which has a special demographic history, may act as a "mini-laboratory" with all the available knowledge and resources to combat the pandemic.
