Nordic Meteorology Meeting 2026

The 34th Nordic Meteorological Meeting will be held in the Faroe Islands 27 – 29th of May, 2026.

The Faroese Meteorological Office (FMO) is organizing the event.

FMO was established in 2021 as an new department in the organization Vørn, which is responsible for the Faroese fishery inspection and marine rescue service.

The meeting will be organized with lectures, panel discussions, poster presentations, social gatherings, and excursions, though all outdoor activities are subject to change according to the latest weather forecast.

The conference will be organized in sessions of 90 minutes, providing time for up to 6 presentations of 15 minutes, including minor remarks or questions. However, the organizer is hoping for 4-5 presentations followed up by lively 15-30 minute panel discussions in each of the sessions, where the speakers will staff the panels.

Room will be provided for displaying posters, and to present the posters for the audience in short (5-minute) talks.
