Researcers are invited to apply for

Grants for research

The next application deadline: 15 February 2011, noon local Faroese time (GMT)

Grants will be given to:
- Faroese researchers and research students
- research and development at or connected to Faroese research institutes and commercial enterprises
- research and development, which have significance in the Faroese context.

Grants will be given to various types of projects:
- PhD.-projects
- post grad. or post doc. projects, wich span several years
- smaller projects with shorter time scales
- research project which include industrial R&D

It is an advantage that:
- the project includes cooperation with several researchers
- the project includes cooperation between researchers, research environments and commerce
- applicants also receive grants from other places.

It is required that:
- at least one third (1/3) of the total cost is funded by others than the Faroese Research Council. Exceptions can be made in relation to PhD.-projects.

Applications for less than 80.000 DKK are ineligible.

Applications must be written in Scandinavian or in English on a specific application form. These can be acquired on the council’s web-page. Application guidelines are likewise found on this page.

Please notice: only applications received by e-mail are accepted.

The application deadline has been the same for many years, 1 September. The Research Board has now decided to move the deadline, which from 2011 will be 15 February.
